Heather Litteer

“I just got home from Heather Litteer’s show LEMONADE at La Mama. I had to come home to calm down. I was utterly wrecked by it. This is a memoir show which actually makes it clear that she has -through the choices she’s made in some very difficult circumstances- become a much more complex, profound and moving artist than she probably ever even imagined in her wildest dreams. The writing and acting are both utterly charming and heartbreaking. It’s smart, funny and very much a feminist tale. I was blown away”.- Justin Vivian Bond

“Heather Litteer’s one woman tour de force ‘Lemonade’ is masterfully performed, generously and beautifully written, and based on a life fearlessly lived: a triple threat!

A truly inspired and inspiring evening of theater and one of the strongest examples I know of the healing power of gathering together and telling stories.”

” I loved Heather’s show”. – Basil Twist

LEMONADE

Written and Performed by Heather Litteer

Directed by Elena Heyman

Heather came to the Big Apple to become an actress. She worked

her way up the ladder playing hookers, junkies and Strippers. You

know, the parts most actress are afraid to play. Then came the role

of a lifetime. And it changed her life.

Heather Litteer’s gripping, funny, heartfelt solo show explores how woman are treated both onscreen and off. Her adventures as an actress and downtown darling interweave with calls back home to her ill mother, a steel magnolia whose southern roots are so strong the can suffocate. Navigating the absurd misogyny of our mediaverse. Lemonade turns female exploitation on its head, and offers redemption to any woman who has ever been typecast.
